    Description

    An antique Japanese sewing box called Haribako that measures 11.5" wide by 9" high by 7"deep.  Made of Kakinoki (Persimmon) in the front and Lacquered Katsuranoki (Japanese Fir) for the top and case with Kirinoki (Paulownia) wood for the drawer backs.  It has four drawers in front that is perfect for present day jewelry storage.  The hinged top opens to reveal a pin cushion holder, a removable cover that kept spools of thread and a wood stem that was used for the third hand clip (not included).  The condition is very good and its age is from 1910-1920 Meiji/Taisho era.
