Description: The old Breyer jumping horse has always been one of my favorite molds, so I was excited to get to customize one! He didn't like hanging out on his wall any more, so I decided to let him fly. The socket in his belly for the wall has been filled in and sanded; seams and logo have been removed, ears, mouth and nostrils are carved. I also filled in that overly deep divot in his chest and repaired his tail which had been broken when I got him. I resculpted his stallion parts as well.
He's been painted in earth pigments and acrylics to a gorgeous liver chestnut with a broad blaze and four stockings, and mottling over his stallion parts. His wings are real ring-necked pheasant wings; pheasants are not native to the U.S. and are legal to hunt. He has two eye hooks set into his back with a hand-braided cord through them; I recommend hanging him from a pair of plant hanger hooks in the ceiling to keep him from spinning around.
He measures 14" long, 21" wide and 7 1/2" tall. The wings do not move; they're held in place with epoxy putty and wire, and with care will last for many years. Also, as the wings came from an animal that lives free-range they are a bit ruffled here and there, but are lovely nonetheless.
Please note he is not LSQ; there are some minor flaws in plastic and paint. He is also NOT a toy; the wings are very fragile. He is, however, a lovely art piece for your home!
This horse will be shipped with insurance and delivery confirmation. Please note shipping costs reflect the large size and delicate nature of this piece. Any leftover shipping costs will be refunded to buyer.
