EXQUISITELY DETAILED CHINESE OPERA EMPRESS DOLL BEIJING PHOENIX or DRAGON HAND-PAINTED ON SILK.
This doll is amazingly beautiful. Her face is expertly painted on silk as well as other painted details on her costume. Intricate beadwork decorate her from head to toe. Her headdress is either a dragon or a Phoenix. She holds a square cup with pinky upraised in her right hand. She is approximately 16 inches tall and is almost 40 years old.
Due to her age there are some slight flaws. Some discoloration of the light blue silk swag as seen on front of doll. Some fraying of pink silk as seen on back of doll. None of these flaws detract from the amazing craftsmanship that created this doll.
As shown as noted on the base, is the the original date of purchase and the location the doll was created. She is from a bygone era of doll making in Beijing, China - 1985. A true beauty for any collection.
