Description
This is an internal SCSI Hard Drive Emulator Board for installation in a Kurzweil K2000 keyboard, K2000S keyboard, K2VP keyboard, or K2VX keyboard. Think of it as a Solid State Hard Drive or SCSI Card Reader. It uses a 8GB SD Card for memory. This package includes the SCSI Emulator Board, 8GB SD Card, and complete installation kit. The installation kit has a ribbon cable, power cable, bracket, mounting hardware, and easy to install instructions (no soldering required). I have configured the Emulator Board into 4 SCSI ID#'s and loaded thousands of high-quality Kurzweil samples and programs on the 8GB SD Card. They are all .KRZ or .K25 sample files and program files, no wave files. Electric guitars, acoustic guitars, clean guitars, distorted guitars, basses, analog synths, digital synths, all the classic synths, Hammond B3s, Vox, Farfisa, Rhodes, Wurlitzers, clavinets, vocoders, grand pianos, voices, brass, orchestral instruments, percussion, congas, drum kits, loops, and more. This is a killer collection of samples and programs. I have formatted the 8GB SD Card into a four 2GB partitions and filled 3 of the partitions with samples/programs.Your K2000 must have OS 3.54 or OS 3.87 to be able to read 2GB. The OS versions before 3.54 could only read 1GB. Since this SD Card is already formatted to 2GB partitions, make sure your OS is 3.54 or 3.87. The OS version is shown briefly on the display when you turn the K2000 on.
I recommend that you have OS 3.87 or OS 3.87J because 3.87 will load and play .K25 samples/programs (K2500 samples/programs).
The K2000 can normally just use 2GB of a hard drive. By configuring the Hard Drive Emulator Board as 4 SCSI ID numbers, the K2000 can access 8GB.
The SCSI Emulator Board has no moving parts like a SCSI Hard Drive, so it's completely silent and should last forever. I have this exact model of SCSI Emulator Board in my K2000 and it works perfect. The SCSI Emulator Board has active termination and the SCSI ID#'s are set to ID# 2, 3, 4, and 5. I will change the SCSI ID#'s if you want different ID#'s, let me know before the package ships. If you have any external SCSI devices, the external device must be set to a different ID#, or you'll have an ID# conflict. Installation is simple and only takes 15-20 minutes.
This is an internal SCSI hard drive emulator. It does not replace the floppy drive. If you have K2000R or other model of Kurzweil, look in my Ebay store, or email me.
