    Description

Les Vogt Performax Engraved German Silver Stainless Steel Snaffle Elevator Bit
Attention collectors, ropers and gamers!  This is a really beautiful engraved German Silver stainless steel snaffle mouthpiece elevator lifter bit made by renowned bit maker Les Vogt's Performax collection.
The bit is very difficult to find and often many stores do not carry it in stock.
The legendary horseman Jimmy Williams has long been associated with the creation of the elevator bit and utilized the elevator bit extensively in his training method.
This unusual snaffle bit was designed by Jimmy Williams to establish and maintain an efficient working frame, without disturbing the horse’s momentum and balance.
This mouthpiece is simple and effective without being too severe.  Essentially, if used correctly, the elevator bit can be no more severe than a snaffle.  According to Les Vogt "They may look a little unorthodox, but elevator bits are very humane because they help a horse to balance himself efficiently".
This beautiful elevator bit has 9-3/4 inch long cheeks with a 1 to 1 leverage ratio meaning this bit has no leverage, only action. The smooth snaffle is a 5-1/8 inch wide by 11 mm diameter mouthpiece with copper inlays on the back side to enhance salivation.  The setting of this bit provides maximum results with minimum rider effort.  Hanging the bit in a lower setting (1/2" down from corners of the mouth) will drop the head and neck. A high setting (2 or 3 wrinkles) will lift the neck and create flexion at the poll.  The included curb chain should always be adjusted fairly loose for the best results. This bit is perfect for neck, shoulder, and collection control development and maintenance.
This useful bit will make a great addition to your bit collection and will look great in any competition setting.
