Description
Being offered is a 2011 Rancilio Silvia, Purchased by myself, by way of seattle coffee gearAt the time SCG was the Only company, Who Professionally Installed the PID, and Offered a Warranty.
Up Until Recently, this machine has served me Incredibly well, as of late...It makes Horribly bitter Espresso
I've only recently attempted to adjust the OPV valve, and to be honest, I don't think I did a great job.
Still makes horrible espresso, I am selling this machine, with the understanding, It needs to be tweaked.
Parts/ as is
Just the facts
The Good
Original owner, No Modding, no constant adjusting or upgrading, simply set it and forget it "and she was loyal"
Ran pretty much perfect for the past 10 years, Until recently
Backflushed with jo-glo and descaled every few months
Exterior case as minimal scratching No funny burn smells and meticulously cared for
Purchased from a reputable dealer SCG, Portafilter Gasket Changed Every 6-8 months
This machine was so loyal, ...I decided to bite the bullet, and purchase the exact same machine
Upon my opening the case " First time ever" Inside does not appear to have CRUSTY wires "Think Shoe String French Fries, I've seen those before" dry wires" Everything looks in pretty good condition, with minor oxidation on electric and terminals " Or what it looks to me"
Never modded, Never insulated the boiler. No Need in my opinion. AUBER PID Was a set it and forget it thing,
Its pretty much a Latte Virgin, I Think i've only ever made 2 latte's in 10 years, Strictly a Shot puller
Although age would dictate changing of O Rings and lubrication
The bad
As in my prior statement, It makes Horribly bitter coffee, This might be...The coffee?, the boiler? The grinder? Over or under adjusted OPV, My Weak Tamping Game, My Terrible taste in Straight From Naples, But Turn out to be 8 Month Old Coffee Beans?
No Clue, Frustration and lacking of coffee, just made me Shelf the whole idea, and Call SCG and Order a new one.
the bottom tray looks like a Dumpster fire, Have not attempted to wire brush this, or scrape the old powder coat. looks worse then it actually Is, This can be painted, and some amazing Ceramic Gun Coatings Should remedy this " Achilles Heel of the Silvia" For a Mighty Long time " I'm thinking the Gun Coating, Should make this a Forever Fix"
Rust has not Pitted through from bottom, as it appears simply surface....I just never liked the idea of chipping of scraping the bottom of my beloved Silvia, with a scraper, ...Hence why i left it.
I will Include a Portafilter. and ship it in my ORIGINAL silvia box
One owner, Strictly a Straight espresso Shot puller with Professionally Installed AUBER PID, Waiting to be Serviced or tuned
So To Recap
Silvia...Not working great...rust on bottom, No Additional mods other then the Pro installed pid
Meticulously maintained over the years, Now she makes roof tar
No Warranty implied, sold AS IS...I think and Hope, i've covered everything...Simply Punting her along
Will Include Original Manual Backflush Puck, Dual Spout Portafilter, Backflush Disc AND 16-20 Gram Basket
