Rare Early Edition of the Vintage Breyer Alabaster Arabian Mare and Foal. #8 and #9. 9 oz. and 3 oz. Dimensions- Mare 10.5” long, 9” high, 3” high, Foal- 6” long, 6” high, 2.5: high. Glossy finish on both.
Rare Vintage, purchased 1958 as a set. These were the very first Breyer horses I was given as a child and the mare had a package of hard candies slung across her back (long gone now, obviously...). She is in excellent condition, although slightly yellowed by her age (after all, she is more than 50 years old!), and she has a couple of scrapes on her muzzle. She has the finely chiseled classic Arabian face with the “dished” profile and large expressive eyes. A gem of a Breyer Horse, and believed to be from the Old Mold by virtue of her age.
The foal is also in excellent condition.
All of my Breyer animals belonged to me as a child and have been in my possession alone since purchase as new. They have been lovingly played with but show little wear except as noted.
